Bilateral Relations

General information

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates were established on June 25, 1998.

The Armenian embassy in Abu Dhabi was founded in 2000.

The embassy of the UAE in Armenia was founded in 2015.

In 2018, the Republic of Armenia opened a Consulate General of RA in Dubai.

On October 7, 2022 Karen Grigoryan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the UAE.

Legal Base

Protocols

  • A joint protocol on establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates was signed on June 25, 1998.
  • Armenia and UAE have signed 17 agreements and 8 MOUs in the fields of trade, economy, culture, science, health, finance, investments, environment, tourism, security etc.

Intergovernmental Commission

  • Since 2019, the Armenian-Emirati Intergovernmental commission for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation has been operating.
  • The commission has so far held one session in October, 2019, Abu Dhabi
